On Wednesday 21st October at 4.30pm, the Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins took part in a parliamentary debate in ‘Westminster Hall’.

The title of the debate was:

Accessible toilet availability for disabled adults and children.

Discussions will centre around the request for Changing Places to be made compulsory under Part M of the Building Regulations and to include new government funding to assist in their provision.

Whilst the desicion was made, not to make Changing Places a compulsory element, it was stated that the Government was undertaking further reasearch into Changing Places and may yet consider including it further into Bristish Standards.

We will have to wait and see the outcome of their research. If you would like to read the full debate, please click here.
